Welcome Letter from Scott McNeely

Hello Friends,

Two weeks ago, the Board of Trustees appointed me as the next Executive Director of Gravatt Camp and Conference Center. I know that you are all already aware of this, but I haven’t had the opportunity to type that out yet. It is still a very surreal situation. I have been, sometimes unknowingly, preparing for this for almost 30 years. I have been a camper, a Diocesan retreat kid, a Happening rector, and a long time summer camp staff member. To me, being responsible for our 271 acres of pine and sand is an honor above any other.

Gravatt is many things to many people. It is a place to grow, a safe space, a home away from home, a place to recharge, a place to reconnect. Your love for Gravatt may have begun in the Shalom Circle or at a campfire. Perhaps it was at a retreat, on Sparkleberry Trail, or on the ropes course. Whatever it means to you, know that Gravatt will be here when you need it.

To Gravatt’s donors, staff, board members, alumni, volunteers and enthusiasts, I say with all sincerity, thank you. Your support is incredibly appreciated and invaluable to the future of this organization. We have a lot of work to do, so hop on board and strap in. Gravatt’s future is bright and I look forward to seeing you all here very soon.

Thank you, my brothers and sisters,

Scott
