Camp AIR Recap
/We had another great year at Camp Air serving 22 wonderful campers with assistance of three great teachers and 10 counselors and staff. This camp would not be possible without the support of our generous donors and sponsors. Our camper were able to spend time each practicing their reading skills and learning about their book through art projects, journaling, spelling practice, and many other fun activities. Our campers also had the opportunity to participate in other traditional camp activities such swimming, canoeing, high ropes, archery, arts and crafts, night programs, and make your pizza night. This summer our campers received some bonus activities with a visit from the Savannah River Ecology Lab. Our camper were able to learn about and hold reptiles, birds, mammals, and amphibians. We also had a special visit with the dogs in training from PAALS (Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services), our campers learned about the training of these great dogs and then had the opportunity to practice their reading skills by reading to the dogs. Another great Camp Air, we are already excited for next year!
