Outdoor Classroom Sites

Studies show that environmental education improves student achievement in core subject areas and also makes students more interested in learning overall. What’s more, getting kids outside and active promotes a healthy lifestyle that is essential to fighting obesity and reducing symptoms associated with attention deficit disorder, depression, and stress.

Curriculum

We believe that children learn best when they are moving, interacting, and able to get their hands dirty. Our experiential classes help students better understand the world, leading them to a sense of environmental responsibility and stewardship. Programs are available for all grade levels and can be tailored to meet a variety of curriculum goals. Classes may include farming, conservation and natural resources, recycling and composting, animal classification and organisms, wildlife habitats, ecosystems, and more. In addition, students may practice communication and problem solving skills on our challenge course, math skills while fishing or cooking, hand-eye coordination while shooting archery, or water safety skills while swimming or canoeing.
