Gravatt is a sanctuary for the ministry of faith formation,
hospitality, leadership development, and environmental stewardship.

VISION
Gravatt is a place where community is built, hospitality is experienced, and God is felt.

Outreach Ministries

We strive to be sanctuary for all who seek it.  To fulfill our mission, we serve our community through a variety of outreach programs.

Mac Westmoreland Scholarship Fund

Faith-based camp is an experience that should be readily available for all children. It is our philosophy that no child should miss out on the Gravatt experience due to financial reasons. In 2018, Gravatt awarded over $35,000 to families who requested financial assistance.

Reach Out Camp

Reach Out Camp (ROC) is a special session offered free of charge to children in 1st – 8th grade with one or more parents incarcerated. This wonderful program is made possible through community partnerships and the generosity of individual donors.

Christmas Retreat for Military Families

The holidays should be a joyous time full of family, fun, and relaxation; but, for many military families, the holidays can be a stressful and lonely. Gravatt’s Christmas Retreat for Military Families offers service men and women the chance to relax, reconnect, and enjoy holiday traditions.

Families from the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, and National Guard who are unable to go home for the holidays will enjoy delicious, homemade meals, making ginger bread houses, the high and low ropes course, zip line, canoeing, fishing, evening activities, a visit from Santa, and more.

Camp AIR (Adventures in Reading)

Gravatt has partnered with the Diocese of Upper South Carolina to develop Camp Adventures in Reading (Camp AIR), which serves children completing 4th and 5th grade who have been identified by their school leadership as students who read below grade level and struggle with content knowledge and reasoning, effective verbal and written communication skills and making connections within or between content areas. This program is designed to sharpen reading confidence and skills in the fun setting of summer camp. It targets children who are not eligible for the school district’s reading camp because of their age.

Ways to Support to Gravatt

Since 1949, Gravatt’s mission and ministries have been supported by the generosity of donors. Your gift today will support the valuable programming offered by Gravatt and will make a difference in the lives of the children, adults, and families who come to Gravatt for retreat, relaxation, and recovery.
