Update on Camp Gravatt 2020 from Scott McNeely, Executive Director

The Camp Gravatt staff is hard at work preparing an amazing summer camp program for our campers and we are looking forward to welcoming our Gravatt family in June. At the same time, we recognize the uncertainty of the days and weeks ahead, so we are preparing alternative programming options to ensure your camper can still experience the friendship and formation found in the Camp Gravatt community if we are unable to open our doors this summer.

As I write this message, the American Camping Association is working with the CDC to provide guidelines and recommendations for camps across the country. When these recommendations are made public, the Gravatt Staff and Board of Trustees will determine what course of action will be in the best interest of the safety of our campers and staff.  We hope to make these decisions and communicate them to you in early May.

Summer Camp Director, Danielle Steger, and I greatly appreciate the overwhelming response to our survey regarding plans for Summer Camp 2020 and will use this information going forward with plans for summer camp programming, policies, and procedures. We will continue to do everything in our power to make summer camp a reality for Gravatt, but the health and safety of our campers and the peace of mind of their families will always be our highest priority.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this uncertain time. If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to know how you can support Camp Gravatt during this time, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at Scott@campgravatt.org. I look forward to the time when we may all gather under the pines together again

Scott McNeely
